A country path in a town

This country path is actually in the tiny area of Brickfields Country Park, Aldershot. The path loops right and takes you to the small lake. This view has become a favourite of mine. If we were here a little earlier in the Spring, the foreground of the country path would be full of the froth of cow parsley.

Further down the country path

I like the contrast between dark and light, the different greens, and the chaotic sprawl of the branches. It reminds me that light does not exist without darkness, and order is impossible without chaos. Further, these are not binary conditions. Life consists of the movement – the dance even – between states; no state is permanent.

This country path is one of a series in the gallery. It includes views through the wild part of Manor Park, also in Aldershot, and a path to the sea at Emsworth Harbour. You might also like this Bridge over the River Wey, or this one of Barnes Cemetery.
