West Wittering – through the tamarisk

Original painting (50 x 76 cm) or high-quality limited edition (1 of 50) Giclée print (30.5 x 23.0 cm).

Please note: the frame in the image is a digital mock-up, the actual frame and mount will be very similar.

West Wittering is a popular family beach in West Sussex, and an important feeding ground for birds, particularly a large over-wintering population of Brent Geese. The area of sand and saltmarsh is considerable, and in certain weather conditons the boundaries between sand, sea and sky are ambiguous. I liked the contrast in this view, the convoluted swirling tufts of dark tamarisk framing the bright view of the distant beach.
